1. Regarding the stereotypes of England & the English - Sunnydale wasn't an accurate depiction of southern California (no African-Americans, Hispanics, or Asians ?), so I'm not sure we can expect much better in this case.

2. I speculated in an earlier post that Faith had somehow become estranged from the New Council, for reasons which were not explained. Based on this issue, it seems as though Giles has become estranged as well, at least from Buffy - and we don't have any explanation for that either. We do know, fwiw, that it was Giles who hung up on Buffy, not vice versa, although she was being pretty rude. The relationships between Buffy & Giles, or Buffy & Faith, seemed much closer during "Chosen"; I can only assume that something happened since then, which we haven't seen.

3. The "Steed & Peel" reference was cute, as was the fact that Faith didn't get it. This whole situation smells like a pilot for a spinoff series, which might explain why Buffy played such a small part in it; maybe Joss will finally get to do his "Watcher" series after all. Of course, this would mean the loss of two main characters from the core corps, but there are several hundred currently minor characters who can be promoted to major-character status. It'll be interesting to see where they go from here.

4. I'm a bit sorry to see Gigi gone; I found her both interesting & tragic. From her remark shortly before the end, I'm assuming that what really drove her over the edge were the Slayer dreams, and that Roden convinced her that she could end the "nightmares" by ending the Slayers, or at least ending Buffy. The look on her face when we first saw her (when she killed the captured Slayer) was more significant than it seemed at the time; it wasn't just shock, but also fear. How may times had she dreamed of girls being killed in similar ways ?

5. If Twilight actuaally is trying to end the magic, then I'd guess he's a new character. The only existing character I can think of who might want to "disenchant the world" is (insert drumroll here)...Riley Finn (???)
