Yeah, because there's no one else in the universe. Good and Evil are the result of humans creating it (barring deitiffic existence). Demons are evil because they're the embodiment of everything humans hate each other about themselves.

You can argue humans are being arrogant, but then you end up looking like Doyle's wife (i.e. a complete cukoolander) when in the world where demons are explicitly shown to be evil, you react with horror when they're evil.
