Subject: Angel: After the Fall #3

In which we discover that Spike has been acting more-or-less altrustically to protect the innocent, albeit extoring sex from the prettier ones (although he'd probably claim there was no pressure, yeah, right). Given previous hints about Spike, though, there should have been some hot guys in posing pouches as well, surely.

The big revelation of the issue is that Angel isn't a vampire any more, although he does still seem to have some kind of super strength. I should have noticed that there was a distinct lack of invitation problems, although if I had I'd probably have put it down to the lack of supernatural protection for the human in a hell dimension. Illyria seems to have at least some of her time manipulation power back in this environment.

This really is turnbing into Angel's nightmare scenario beyond the transportation of LA to hell - Spike, Illyria and Connor have been doing good perfectly well without him and without seemingly feeling the need to look him up. It makes me wonder if they'll take the coward's way out of making the whole thing just a simulated personal hell for Angel without any actual impact on the world.

There's a strong defence of Urru's art against unquoted critics in the letter column. I agree that he shouldn't be criticised for not being photorealistic, but I still think that his depiction of women is gratuitously sexual and insufficiently individualised.
