I liked this one overall, there were some inconsistencies which grated a bit - which seems to be a Torchwood hallmark - but all in all it was good entertainment. The comedic lines did seem to get stepped on in an attempt to keep up the pace. When they're mostly delivered as asides, if not actually spoken to camera, you shouldn't really rush them if you want to preserve the impact of the gag.

As a whole the program seems to have answered my alternating good and bad episodes criticism by providing a show that was a bit of both. I'm not too disappointed but I could see that others might not share even my lukewarm enthusiasm; the show does seem to have lost direction to a certain extent. It feels as if they've had a more than ample season and three quarters to establish the characters and now find that there is no underlying truth or story that the writers want to portray with them.

Whilst this was in part always an element of my worry/criticism about the show I had hoped that I would be proven wrong. It may still happen but with three episodes left in this series they'd better get a shift on if it's going to materialise before the third series (assuming there's going to be one).
