Well Gunn seemed to have accepted Wesley's right to fire him. He made no objections to Wesley's statement and did not seem to dispute Wesley's right to act as the boss. As far as I remember, this was never brought up again as a point of dispute. Wes and Gunn had many disagreements but they were pretty much all about Fred (and I think Gunn's resentment that, at least in his mind, being only considered as the muscle).
Personally, I accept Wesley's right, even obligation, to confront Gunn's secrecy as it almost got them killed. He probably could have been more diplomatic and couched it in terms of not working together vice firing but witholding pertinent knowledge is not good. Of course, all the characters at one time or another kept secrets, some much more destructive than Gunn's so I think this falls squarely in the "mountain out of a molehill" category.
