I've never been able to take the Star Wars universe as more than candy. A New Hope was tasty, ESB delicious, ROTJ better in the anticipation than the consumption. Let us never speak of the prequels; we never ordered those desserts anyway.

That said, I found TFA plenty enjoyable. Overall better acted than ANH (Mark Hamill was pretty ... raw in that movie (like DB in S1, perhaps). Daisy Ridley was an excellent choice as Rey, though I'm less sure about Adam Driver as Ren. The big issue for me is whether someone will be able to step forward as a replacement for Han (who really makes the first 2 movies). Not, mind you, to duplicate his character, but to play a similarly important role in as engaging a way.

It's good to hear from you cjl. Keep us up to date more often.
