Subject: Episode 3.3: Gridlock - only casting spoilers this time

This was brilliant! Ardal O'Hanlon is unmistakable even made-up as a cat and highly entertaining. The central idea concealed an unforseen plot development. It wasn't a wham-bam effects-based episode but makes use of effects to establish the premise and sell the rather chilling vision of the tragedy of New Earth. There were a lot of ideas put across very quickly and so my only criticism is the constant one I have - that the storylines would work better if they were extended over multiple parts. In the case of Gridlock there was certainly plenty of possibility to extend the sequences into maybe as many as 6 episodes. The Doctor's promise to return to the undercity being potentially the closing chapter of the arc.
