I have yet to see Blink (this coming Friday) but I thought the two parter Human Nature/The Family of Blood was extraordinary. I have to admit I am not a rabid Doctor Who fan, especially with the departure of Rose, but this episode was just heart breaking. I guess I like my TV a bit on the sentimental/maudlin side but I like nothing better than a good tear jerker. I have been slowly falling in love with Martha and this episode completed the process. Not to mention The Doctor himself. I thought it was clever (if not exactly original) how they illuminated the human aspect of The Doctor. I cringed when he asked Joan to be his new companion – how that would have hurt Martha. If Blink is better than this episode, well I can’t wait for Friday.
