It's not that there may not be logical reason or explanations for why F and B might have a tussle...but it's just annoyance at the fact that the writer feels the need to contrive situations just to show it to us. It just felt like some guy sitting around thinking how cool it would be to write his very own Faith/Buffy fight. The characters feel like they've regressed...again, like it's someone just wanting to play with the characters and universe rather than tell an interesting story.

It just seems to be the curse of comics in general - to not move forward and keep repeating the same thing over and over, looking for the literary equivalent of a Big Mac so they can just sell the same thing over and over and over. Even TV at it's worst doesn't cannibalize itself the way that comic books do.

Hard-edged Giles, Bad Girl Faith, Angry Buffy, Fuffy fights...please...I've seen it enough, and it was better with real actors and actresses. If you're not going to show me something new, if you're not going to take advantage of an opportunity and move the characters and story forward, then why bother? Just stick to writing fanfic, because then at least you aren't trying to charge people money for nothing.
