The distance between Buffy and Giles didn't seem unlikely to me, as I saw their renewed closeness in Chose as being a bit fragile and forced. The distance with Faith seems to me to need a bit more explanation or fanfic.

Oh dear, really don't want to see Riley as Twilight, partly because I liked him, and partly because it would make Buffy's sex life even more hellish - can't she have one boyfriend who isn't egregiously screwed up and evil?
