Back to form I think, one or two glitches but still gripping and within the confines of a single parter sufficiently rounded out. Rather than enthuse I think I'll just outline the criticisms I'd make (nothing like being in a positive frame of mind). I thought the character of Tommy was far too modern* but purely for entertainment purposes that's OK I suppose. Gwen's initial reaction to the one legged guy from 1918 was just wrong - after all she knew what was likely to happen and shouldn't in any case be freaked by these things. The gay kiss was superfluous; I thought 'are we going to have a gay kiss in every decent episode just to let us know that it's a good one?'

In the interests of balance here are some good points as I saw them - Owen's reconstruction, (was that 'they always are' bit) a hint that Ianto is more than he seems, the 'Star Trek' scrunched up paper explanation by analogy (lol), the 'Terminator' time line stuff (although I'd have liked an ending implying some form of divergence at that 1918/present junction), the creepy handling of the future/past echoes and the less in your face Cap'n Jack.

* although he'd clearly not played much snooker, after which pool would be a doddle

On balance I thought it was another winner.
