Apart from the final episode, which I also thought was good, but clearly represented a huge gaffe by Joss Whedon. (Didn't he both write and direct?)

Earlier that season...

I do recall when the "Zulu Slayer creator guys" placed Buffy in chains (from which she couldn't free herself) and opened the box for the "demon" spirit to bind more with her to increase her strength. It clearly did go into her and go out one or two times. Then, after this, she broke the chains quite easily. I do realize that it was not her intention to lose her humanity so she rejected at least some of the forced induced strength offer. (Side note-which would also seemingly reflect upon an earlier thread about "Lack of Reaction to Xanders Eye" and its accompanying "Buffy/General/Loss of Humanity" theory)

This could have been, and I believe was meant to be, a incremental increase in strength to one degree or another. However, as Sunshine points out, Buffy did not seem to reflect this increase in strength whether it was fighting Caleb or just your typical Vamp.

I really believe there were probably at least 2 major plot miscues here that were amplified dramatically by the latter of the two which occurred during the final ep when Ubervamps were being dusted 2 and 3 at a time by anybody with a pulse and a shovel.

My intention here was to determine if I had missed something along the way. It certainly isn't my intention to blast the writers or creators of the show. Hey I liked the show.
