Subject: the pointlessness of the missing 2 yrs in alias season 3

hey guys.. what's up..

ok.. something that's been bugging me... sydney erased her memory so that the covenant wouldn't chase her around for her eggs and the rambaldi fluid thing...... um... doesn't amnesia strike anyone as rather extreme?? wouldn't it have been simpler to just DESTROY the fluid???

im glad the writers DID address this in the episode "full disclosure" when sydney said sthg like "why didn't i destroy it? i dunno, there must've been other factors".... but methinks they only wrote this when they realized that they're stuck: they came up with this twisted storyline, and in that episode, they realized the meaninglessness of it all........ and knew that that's what the fans would say, so they decided to add that line to make us think that they've got an explanation..

now i havent seen season 5 yet...... but i doubt there's ever gonna be an explanation.. am i right?
