I suspect that BtVS was and will remain unique. It's hard to duplicate the combination of factors which led to its success: humor, drama, depth, acting, coincidence with the rise of the internet, and others. BtVS clearly influenced other shows -- Veronica Mars being an obvious example -- and some of them capture part of what BtVS special, but none of them can match it overall. Another show may someday, but it's likely that, as Buffy said, "it will be years, if ever".
