I found it ironic that Spike and Riley both had chips. Spike constantly fought the constraints of his chip, Riley never knew it was there. Riley thought he was a demon fighter. Someone who would bag and tag em not bothering to question all the experiments going on in the Initiative. All that time he was no different than Spike in a way. Both were used to gain power for someone else.
