I just finished going "through" V.Mars Season 2 (haven't seen the live S3 currently being shown on CW network).

If so, it sure seems to me that Joss traded a few script doctoring episodes (only one of the DVDs, Number 3). He guest stared on Disk 2 episode, which is about right timing.

There was an alternate ending to the one Alyson was prime (alt didn't involve Alyson), that had Joss-ish all over it...
