Normally, I would be with you, as I am not big on cop shows either. Fortunately, a friend turned me on to this after the first season, and I got a chance to see it run again before the second. Good writing and good story telling made me not worry about the genre.
I enjoyed your comment about the rogue demon hunter though, as that brought back fond memories.
