Subject: Meanwhile, back in the desert (spoilers for last night's Bones)

For a 'so-and-so's long lost love buys the farm' episode it wasn't too bad. I'm not sure the mystic elements either helped or hurt it, but I think they were consistant with the Angela character, which is what's most important in my book.

I have to say the director did next to nothing to make us believe it was hot where they were, although Booth said it was hot when he arrived. The desert can be very pleasant during the winter months, but the water concerns would still be very real.

Although the snippets of desert icons, a quick shot of a saguaro cactus, and a longer scene in among Joshua Trees were out of place in story about New Mexico, most of the scenes did look much like parts of New Mexico which was refreshing.

The info about peyote was as correct as it needed to be and appropriately vague also. And no, you can't get peyote from saguaros or Joshua Trees!

I was busy and missed commenting on last week's episode, but want to mention I thought it was one of the best over all. The characters really seemed to be maturing nicely.
