Ok, trying to work out the floorplan of Chez Summers is a little futile--I've never been able to make it all work. But I always thought that the master bedroom (Joyce's, later Willow&Tara's, finally Buffy's) had a door into the bathroom. The bathroom, of course, also has a door into the hallway.

So the sequence goes: Dawn into bathroom, Dawn into master bedroom (locks door). Buffy into bathroom, turns back to the hallway and then into the door between the master bedroom and hallway.

I think.

A similar sequence happens earlier in (I think) Listening to Fear. Dawn and Joyce are in the master bedroom after the quellor attacks. Dawn chases the quellor off and slams the hallway door. Then she ducks into the bathroom and yells down the hall for Buffy.

Again, I *think*.
