I wonder if the HD-DVD has any extra content compared to the DVD? I suppose we'll see reviews soon as to whether the extra quality is really visible when played on HD TV.

It will be an interesting test to see how long it takes for the HD version of the movie to appear on the net - or if it ever does. You have a situation here where the movie has been released in a new format, with new copy protection. The players won't be available to most people at a feasible price for a long time, but many people have computers capable of playing HD content. That's plenty of motivation. All it takes is one person anywhere in the distribution chain to figure out how to rip it and put it out on the net.
