Subject: so this is what everyone's been talking about?

UPN, or at least its NYC-area affiliate, has started showing S1 Farscape episodes at 11 Saturday nights, bumping current Stargate SG-1 episodes to midnight (& keeping me up watching TV later than usual). On Sundays, Stargate Atlantis is on at 5 pm. (Then S2 Farscape is on at 6, but I'm not watching that 'cuz I've only seen the beginning of S1.) So I can finally see 1 show my fannish community has been talking about for...OK, let's just say "several" years, & another that's still new-ish but I haven't had a chance to tune in to till now, & I'm recognizing characters I've been reading about & trying to remember who's who & fit what I'm seeing w/what people have been saying. So far? It's more like I'm giving the shows a chance to hook me than like I'm hooked already.

I caught Farscape from the 1st ep, but I missed some of SG Atlantis. How many episodes are there before the 1 where McKay uses the shield thing that works too well (keeping it vague here in case anyone's unspoiled)? Is there anything in particular on either show I should make sure not to miss, or keep an eye out for? Thanks!
