Thanks for the info. I knew those comics existed, but I didn't know they filled in the gap. I'm on it.

I wonder if you can answer another question for me. I just saw the movie yesterday and I tend to just let a movie wash over me and then go back for the details (having the second veiwing wednesday in Manhatten). But one thing made me curious. The relationship between Mal and the Captain seemed far warmer and familiar in the movie. Brief as it was, it was almost tender. Did I miss something in the series or did something happen in the comic...or is this the real reason Mal and Inara didn't connect? Not that there's anything wrong with that.
