I too love Passion (the episode- I am only lukewarm on the emotion). Joss has said that they wanted the viewers to be convinced that Angelus was really, really evil and not just some guy in a bad mood and boy did they succeed. To me, it wasn't so much that he killed Jenny but the whole elaborate production and the obvious joy he took in staging the "Jenny as a gag gift" scene. That was the single most cruel, sadistic, evil thing I have ever seen on TV. Up until Innocence, I really did not like Angel as a character as he came across as nothing more than Buffy’s puppy (and as a puppy, not nearly as interesting as when he was Willow’s) but Angelus was a character with humor and complexity and just a whole lot more interesting as you never knew to what depths he would sink to. Where he went to in Passion was beyond even my imagination. I also liked the poem, especially as narration which I thought gave it a more haunting vibe.
