Ok, this is to ALL OF YOU! STOP BEING SELFISH! Almost all personal feedback I get from all of you is you guys bashing each other! A problem is one thing, but most of these problems should not exist! If you've got beef with everyone in general, there is a thread for that. If you've got beef with just one person, that's what I'm here for. But before you do either, you guys have to sit there and think how much of the problem is YOUR OWN FAULT. We all screw up, it's human nature, but TRY for me. I really want to choose another person to admin with me, but so far I don't think A SINGLE ONE OF YOU shows disrcretion enough. I'm dead serious when I say that. I have a few things I'd like to say that have been causes of problems, causes of potential problems, and things I just plain don't like.
1- Mythical beings, dragons in particular. I'm fine with you guys setting up your own organized system of what does what, but unless your the first dragon on the board, you need approval from all other current dragon-users. No one being can be TOO powerful. Even the great Smaug of Tolikien's "The Hobbit" had that LITTLE flaw in his scales that proved a BIG weakness. No more "invulnerable to most physical/magical attacks." I know dragon hide is tough, but a well-placed attack with several different kinds of weapons should be able to cause them ample grief.
2- Magic. There is too much "my magic is strong" "my magic is stronger" "my magic is even stronger" etc going on. I don't want too many powerful mages, and I don't think anyone else here does, either. I don't care if you play Rock-paper-scissors for it, PICK WHO'S STRONGER, or at least specialize and say this person is strongest in fire-based magic and this person is strongest in healing. Get the point? And when someone says their magic is good enough to do something, no one can go back and say otherwise.
3- Big, strong, tall, magical, charming people. If you want a big, strong, tall person, good for you. Go at it. But put diversity into them. Give them MAJOR failings to ballance their major advantages. If I see any new characters who are 7 feet tall with muscles like post-spinach Popeye and happen to be Pliartha's greatest sorceror, oh, and did I mention their dazzling good looks - I will delete the character. No ifs, ands, or buts. I don't even want a character who's pretty good at everything. In at least ONE area (excluding looks, because that's too easy to do away with with strength and magic to boot) your character must be extremely deficient.
4- God-play and what seems like it. Too many complaints both ways. I am not blind and I do not need any of you to tell me when there is a problem and who to deal with and how to deal with them. I'm a big girl. I don't want to single people out here. If I have told you to watch it- WATCH IT. I will delete posts if that's what it takes, I will delete characters if that's what it takes, I will change the password and tell everyone but the perpetrators if that's what it takes, but do NOTHING to another character without their permission! Obviously you can slap them, or something like that - something that you could do to another person in real life (to an extent). But no klling, maiming, infecting, harming in any way without a person's consent. Only I'm allowed to do that, because I trust myself to do so only when necessary. I'll only kill your character if you break the 10 day rule, etc. Also, no overreacting, people. If there is god-playing and I do nothing about it for a while, then talk to me and I'll tell you why I didn't. There's a fine line.
5- Identities. If I do not know who controls what character, I cannot speak with them about the enforcement of rules. Therefor, I am making an ID thread where everyone MUST put the names of ALL their characters (that means adding when you make more) as well as any name they may post of when OOC.
6- Posting in the Story thread. I assume there was a misunderstanding when I told everyone to continue posting under Aidan. You know how whenever you reply to the original message it appears in a green box, and replies to that cascade downward. The purpose was to get everyone under ONE cascade, not to create more of them! So, I believe the last green box is currently the disease, so lets everyone post replies UNDER that in a fashion so that they CASCADE. Otherwise we get five different things and its annoying to try to figure out the chronology.
That's it... for now. I'm not REQUIRING changes to previously made characters and posts. In fact, I'd rather you leave the posts alone. But, if you wish to modify your bios (some of you could use this greatly, some don't really need to at all) please feel free. I'm sure we'll all be much happier from now on. Hopefully. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind solving your disputes, but many of these current ones shouldn't exist. And please don't get into fights with people OOC without my moderation. If this has seemed harsh to you, I'm sorry. But you've all been horrid, and I think it's time I excercised my right and responsibility to give you all a great big virtual lecture.
