As Lithrael walked farther and farther into the pass it got colder and colder, he drew his cloak tighter about himself and plodded on. Since he was not tired he walked on after the sun had set and all the world had gone dark. He was consumed within his thoughts for he did not have a plan of any sort. He did not even have a destination. Sudenly his thinking was interupted when a hideous cloaked being jumped onto the path ahead of Lithrael. It was illuminated by a pail icy light that radiated from its body, it had long tangly silver hair, pale grey skin, blood re eyes and it's wicked smile showed crumbling yellow teeth. All the creature said was " freeze and kill, crunch and munch killy killy freeze, icy all over must killy killy kill kill." and other similar phrases over and over. Lithrael just stood there watching this obviously insane creature. The creature lifted up its dangly arms and Lithrael felt the stir of magic but did not comprehend until the icy bolts were flying at him. He easily dodged them, thanking his creator for his speed. Lithrael reached deep down inside himself and called on the fire, and it came. Fire sprung from his finger tips and streaked toward the strange mad creature, engulfing him in an excruciating inferno. Screaming with pain and rage the creature charged Lithrael, who was caught off gaurd. In his surprise he moved a fraction of a second to late, for one of the creatures claws caught his throat tearing the flesh, Lithrael felt the warm blood flowing from himself. He turned drawing his lng knife to finish the demon off, but the creature was already a sizzeling black puddle on the floor of the mountain pass. Lithrael pulled some herbs out of his pack and applied them to the wound on his neck, within minutes he was fully healed. He continued on his way slightly shaken by his attack. He had learned one very valuable lesson though, always be ready.
By the time the first finger tips of the rising sun touched the dark sky Lithrael had come out of the pass and was in the forest at the other side. He made camp by a small brook and got ready to enjoy a few hours rest.
