As the mare began to become frightened, he didn't know what to do. Pondering for a moment, he allowed the lead to loosen as he moved towards her. Reaching in his pocket, he took out another sugar cube, holding it out towards her, he spoke softly, trying to convence the mare that he didn't want to hurt her, and was just going to go and put her in her paddock, so that she wouldn't be loose in the streets and hurt herself. "Easy there girl..I'm not going to hurt you. I promise." He got close enough to where she could lip the treat from his hand, hoping that she would understand he wasn't trying to hurt her.
