Ahem. My name is Shadowblaze Icehowl. I have been tracking the serpents known as the Arachist for quite awhile. Their history and role in the ROC will reveal how to defeat them. Allow me to start.
Once, some time ago, there was a fox by the name of Falkingra. He was a ship captain, leader of a cold and heartless crew. Their ship scoured the coast, searching for treasure... and slaves. A sea otter named Finnbarr Galedeep (no, not the one from Bellmaker... his son.) lived with his Holt near Redwall Abbey. Falkingra and his crew attacked them, killing all but Finnbarr Sr. and Finnbarr Jr. Neither were aware that the other was dead, and went their seperate ways. Finnbarr Jr. was captured and put in slavery on Falkingra's ship. Some years later, he led a slave rebellion. The fight was lost, and Finnbarr was pitched overboard to the shaks. He washed up on shore some ways away, near Redwall. He was found, and healed. He met my brother Iceblaze, an otter named Seawort, and myself there. We were stopping for supplies for our allied mercenary bands. He joined with Starwort, and his skill and strength soon found him co-partnered with Starwort. They tracked Falkingra and his crew for a long while. They destroyed his ship in one raid, grounding the crew. Finally, the two forces met in a climatic battle at Holt Seabreeze. Starwort was killed in that fight by one of Falkingra's top soldiers, named Rhaden. Falkingra's band, at this point, had grown to a large force consisting of a main force, an espionage group (headed by Rhaden), and an anarchist group made up of several adders. Seabreeze helped defeat the army, its warriors fighting bravely. My own band also joined the fight. Finnbarr killed Falkingra, throwing him to the sharks. The group was broken, but the espionage and anarchist groups escaped. They resurfaced seperately later, the espionage group now a cult of mercenaries known as the Nazareen, headed by the fox Rhaden, and the anarchist group now the Arachist, headed by a serpent named Asmodeus. The Nazareen were involved in several attacks on Seabreeze. Recently the Arachist attacked Otterwake. This attracted the attention of Rhaden, who allied with the group. They then joined a wildcat named Terranix. The INSU member is forming a club, and Asmodeus has taken a posistion as head of the Imperial Gaurd, made up of serpents, and Rhaden the horde leader. The snakes can thus be destroyed most easily by slaying their commander, Asmodeus, or Terranix and Rhaden, along with the cobra Cobraxis who is the leader of the new club. Cobraxis' forces, including Terranix and Rhaden, are now attacking Seabreeze, hoping to kill Finnbarr once and for all. Rhaden also seems to have a personal vendetta against Swiftbreeze Swordpaw, leader of Seabreeze. As you are aware, Asmodeus and a few of his serpents are on the battleboard here. They must be stopped, or more lives will be lost.
