After escaping the tub, Matthias ran and found a tunel, recently dug by a dibbun mole. He crawled in the opening and turned his head hissing to the mole said "I wasn' here." The dibbun nodded his head blankly. It turned out that the tunnel ended after a ways, so the now muddy fox continued digging. Eventually he came up in the apple orchard.

He feasted on the fruit until he saw a very angry Mother Mellus. He climbed up into the leaves trying to make himself invisible angainst the green on brown. When she turned to go into the Abbey, Matthias slid down the trunk and padded as silently as possible after her. Mother Mellus searching the nearest room gave him his chance. He slunk into a dark crevice and waited. When the badger exited Matthias slipped in assuming he wouldn't get caught.

But Mother Mellus isn't stupid. In fact she's quite smart. She heard little pawsteps behind her and realized that it was a naughty dibbun hiding from her. She lured the creature into the room . She walked back through the door, and taking Matthias by surprise, he let out a high-pitched squeak. He tried to escape in vain. Mellus grabbed the scruff of his neck and had to smile at what she saw. His noramlly ginger fur was covered in mud with leaves plastered everywhere, making himquite unrecongnizable.She dragged the poor fox to the baths, ignoring his protesting squeals. Not only did she bathe him untill his fur shone, but she tied a ribbon around his tail and sentenced him to two weeks in the infirmary. What a day!
