I had just escaped from the tub, and Ma Mellus was after me. I was hiding under my bed, along with about a hundred candied chestnuts, and a jug of greensap milk. I had planned this well. I heard Ma Mellus's feet plodding along the beds. She called out, "Come on out. I know you're in here, little one!" I sniggered to myself, and suddenly rolled out like half the candied nuts. Ma Mellus said, "Aha!" She stepped closer, and then...THUD! She fell to the floor. I rolled out from under the bed, splashed her with the greensap milk, and ran out, yelling, "Haha, yous is not gonna catch mes!" I ran for my life and dignity out the door. Ma Mellus regained her feet, and started plodding along after me. Just one hope. To do the unthinkable: Frame Ma Mellus! I saw the Abbot, and threw the rest of the candied nuts before his feet, then hid. Ma Mellus came into view just as the Abbot slipped and fell. I giggled as he said, "Mellus, what is this?" She said, "It wasn't me. It was that dibbun Astro, trying to escape his bath!" The Abbot got up, and wagged his finger at Ma Mellus. "Mellus, I'm surprised at you! Blaming an innocent dibbun for your mistakes! I wish to see you in my quarters. Now!" Ma Mellus said, "Yes, Father Abbot." I giggled as Ma Mellus followed the Abbot to his quarters for a lecture. I ran off to the pond, free until the next bathtime!
