Across the gently rolling hills,
Beyond high mountain peaks,
Along the shores of distant seas,
There's something my heart seeks.
But there's no peace in wandering,
The road's not made for rest.
And footsore fools will never know
What home might suit them best.
But, oh, the things that I have seen,
The secret paths I've trod,
the hidden corners of the world
Known to known but me and God.
Yes, the world was meant for knowing,
And feet were meant to roam.
But one who's always going
Will never find a home.
A breath of moonlight in form of a young fae moves forth into the open land. Her everlasting pools gaze upon it reflectively. Crania lifts and pools soak in the gold of the sun. Silver peds lift and fall and kiss the earth in a dance in among shadows as she battles the age-old question... 'Do I dare...?' Her heavenly dance comes to a sad end as lobes prick about for any sign of the wind. Soon she is rewarded by a kiss of the wind against her silver-white arch, giving her a sense of peace. Another sweep of her pools is made upon the vast land. Silver peds rise and fall, creating a rhythm of silver bells as she strolled through the openness. Slowly shadows hint themselves in her pools, shadows of boredom and loneliness.
Alas, it is always lonely upon the path she dwells on, the path of a wanderer.
Oh where is the thread that binds me,
The voice that calls me back?
Where's the love that finds me-
And what's the root I lack?
My heart seeks the hearth,
My feet seek the road.
A soul so divided
Is a terrible load.
My heart longs to rest,
My feet yearn to roam.
Shall I wander the world
Or stay safe at home?
