Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away
'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow
Has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shoreline
And say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance the tide...
Yes, I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry...

Sweet birdsong accompanied the rising of the golden orb, as it cast the Earth in a half-light, as it's top just touched the horizon. Shadows were strung long as they were pulled toward the moon, out of sight, beyond the horizon.

The stallions blackened feet grazed the grass tops as his slightly lean, slightly aged form pounded across the turf. Muscles rippeled underneath the silver coat, head thrust forward, eyes half shut as he revealed in his own speed. In his prime he had been hard to beat, and now, just past, still would be. Sliding gracefully to a stop, rearing slightly on his hinds, as to stop all the pressure from going to his front legs, he came down ro the Earth, snorting happily, brown eyes dancing once more.

His body barely sweated, glistened in the half-light of pre-dawn, his charcoaled muzzle lifted to the sky, 'nares wide, taking in air and scents. Twin petals swiveled atop his cranium, giving his slightly arched poll a shake, sending his ebony mane and forlock into dissaray. Flicking his long tail, he danced slightly to the top of a small hillock, bending his slender neck to the Earth to graze for breakfast in the early morning light.

.Choose to chance the rapids.
...And dare to dance the tide...
