He bumped into a tree, leaves toppled down on top of his head. The stallion blinked in confusion and surprise, which is soon replaced once more by anxiety. “I have forsaken my mother, my family, myself. I have killed. I have been tortured physically and emotionally. What future is there for me? I can’t even end my own life, for I am haunted. I saw the death of Sonny, of mother, of myself. I have journeyed yet found nothing I sought… every moment has been agony.” Fear melted away as his madness had. He wasn’t afraid. No, that wasn’t the right word for it. There might not be a word for it. But his voice rang out strong yet weak, brave yet hopeless. And yet even still... Fear's words were eating at him. There was hope yet to be discovered.
