Subject: My Match Rankings/Thoughts

>1. Massive Damage vs. Mike Hughes
My Match Ranking: **1/4
Result: Mike Hughes over Massive Damage by pinfall at 9:56

>In a bit of a confusing sequence of events, Massive
>Damage insists on a hardcore match but Hughes refuses.
> Even still, most people still figured this would be a
>hardcore match and were surprised when the ref was
>counting them out of the ring.
That was really confusing.

>Decent match; I can
>not stress enough that I feel that the "Hardcore"
>title should be abolished. When he doesn't defend it,
>we get to actually see Damage's talent and who pays
>$10 because there might be a hardcore title match
>anyway?
Agreed.

>Hughes wins with a little help from Kingman
>(a bit amusing to see Damage turn his back on Kingman
>in a rather stunned manuever).
Kingman did the run in at 9:13. He didn`t actually do anything, just caused a distraction.
Interesting to see Hughes in the opener two straight weeks.

>2. Custom Made Man vs. Duke MacIssac
My Match Ranking: **1/2
Result: CMM over MasIssac by pinfall at 7:45

>In an amusing moment, CMM comes by to slap hands and
>congratulates us on choosing R.A.W. over Summerslam
>or, as he calls it, "that shit."
I agree with him!
This match was fine; it seemed shorter than it was. Give these guys a few more minutes and I think that they are in ***+ territory easily. CMM is showing that he can be a top-tier player.

>3. Chi Chi Cruz vs. Eddy Watts
My Match Ranking: **1/2
Result: Cruz over Watts by pinfall at 15:10

Good stuff, can`t really add much to BMN`s comments. There were a few run ins in this match, I think, but I can`t remember.
Yes, he DID mark out for the small package!

>4. Joe E Legend vs. Bobby Rude
My Match Ranking: ****
Result: Rude over Legend by pinfall at 11:42

>Dynamite, of course. Joe E's best effort yet and Rude
>was right there with him, busting his butt.
The only thing that hurt this match was that I was EXPECTING to be great- and of course it was. A little bit of everything. I think Joe used about 5 or 6 spots that I`ve never seen before!

>And the
>crowd was into it from start to finish.
Not surprising. It`s fun to cheer Joe, and it`s fun to boo Bobby. Two great all around performers = great match.

>Legend counters by challenging Rude to a
>submission match next week. I'm all for it...
I`m going to miss this one! GRRRRR!

>5. Wildman Gary Williams vs. Kingman
My Match Ranking: **
Result: Williams over Kingman by DQ at 8:18

>Match suffered a bit from Kingman's lethargy, although
>Williams seemed into it.
Who`s surprised? Any wrestler that gets into ** territory wrestling Kingman is a worthy champion.

>Also, the DQ finish
>(involving Hughes) was a bit weak, but it did lead to
>Kingman putting Williams through a table- a well done
>bit.
Excellent table bump. Made me feel like we had seen something important that you would only see in Halifax!

> Damage comes out (a little late) and exchanges
>words with Hughes thereby setting the table for a
>Williams/Damage-Hughes/Kingman bout next week.
>Amazing how they always have a double main event set
>up and ready to go, isn't it?
That`s why GPW isn`t in business! RAW is really using its roster well now. It seems like every other week, they`ll rest a couple of others, and keep them fresh by doing so. Then the next week they`ll use the full roster by having a tag match, which are usually good.
Overall, good stuff. The mood wasn`t great as BMN said, but Legend/Rude was, and the rest of the stuff was all at least good. Too bad I`m going to miss the next show...
