Subject: RAW Report 9/9/01

Tonite's show at the Northside FOrum wasn't bad. For all you people that had better things to do, here's the results.

Ring announcer guy is doing his usualy shit when Custom's music hits and he comes out. He cuts a promo about Duke and how he's gonna get his revenge for what happened two weeks ago.

Match #1 Custom v Duke

Duke comes out and Custom meets him in the aisle, beating the hell out of the man from Bras D'or... I mean Glasgow, Scotland. Custom dominates early and those Custom Made Mark guys loved every second of it. I don't know who those guys are but that blonde one is a pretty handsome man... Anyways, the early part of the match saw a bunch of outside the ring action. When the got in the ring, it didn't take long for Duke to take control. It seemed like Duke had control for a while, wh\ith every now and then Custom teasing a come back. It went to the outside again, but this time iwth Duke in control. Later in the match Custom missed a four star splash and DUke killed the crowd with an amazing use of a half nelson and a nerve hold. This killed the corwd. Even those marks stopped booing cause it was pathetic. Anyways, Custom sold the finisher and when the ref lifted and dropped his arm, he only got a two. Custom came back but again Duke slapped on the half nelson. Custom vaulted himself off the top turnbuckle into a bridge (while still in the half nelson) for the pin.

Winner: Custom Made Man

After the match, Custom played to his marks and hit a four star splash, vaulting ove the ref to do so.

Match #2 Kingman v Flesh

Basic match between these two with many basic moves being used and Kingman getting his usual heel heat. I was surprised at how good this match was, and it had a nice flow and good storytelling. There wasn't very much in the line of great technical wrestling, but I for once almost believed that Kingman was actually gonna put someone over. Finish came with Kingman getting a roll up pin with his feet on the ropes.

Winner: Kingman

Match #3 Hardcore Rules Eddie v Massive

Eddie threww a lot of plunder into the ring, but the match surprisingly wasn't a typical hardcore match where it's all about the weapons. The match went everywhere and even used the other ring. There was good use of the hockey boards and a good flow to the match. For a long period tho the crowd was dead, and neither guy did anything to make them pop. I would say that was the bad part of the match. Towards the end Rhy... Massive tried for a gore through a piece of wood but missed nad went through it himself. However, Massive came back a few moments later to hit a gore and win.

Winner: Massive Damage

That blonde Custom Made Mark marked out big for the Massive version of the Spicoli Driver. I hear he's a big Tommy Dreamer mark too.

Intermission

At intermission those Custom Made Marks were circulating a petition to make Custom the champ. I hear they got 10% of the crowd to sign it too.

Match #4 Kow-pac Test Credible v Wildman

Typical match between these two. It's been seen many times, with nothing really new (except Kow-pac's new Charlie Brown tights). They did a bunch of outside the ring stuff, which seemed to be the thing to do tonite. That's not to say it's bad, cause the only Kow-pac matches that are better are with Custom (I think those Custom Made Marks would agree). They tease the wild driver a bunch of times at the end until Wildman finally does hit it and pins Kow-pac.

Winner: Wildman gary Williams

It was funny when the Kow-pac said "C'mon Austin, get up!" and the blonde Custom Made Mark yelled out "His name's Williams now", to which Kow-pac said "whatever".

Match #5 Raw Title Rude v Chi Chi

Good flow but unfortunately I find Chi CHi kills the crowd with too much technical wrestling. I like his matches, but the crowd isn't fond of that style too much. Still, the match was a good display of the skills of the two. Ending was typical Sinner booking when there's a ref bump and then Rude hits Chi Chi with knucks for the win.

Winner: Bobby Rude

Wildman comes out after the match and challenges Rude to a knucks on a pole match for next weekend. Why does there have to be a gimmick match EVERY week?

Overall the show was above average for RAW. I was quite impressed with Flesh and Kingman, which is quite a feat for those two. Anyone who knows me knows why that is. I would have to say the main event was the match of the nite, with the hardcore match being the worst. Custom's match was good, but not spectacular. They should let him carry some more offence in his matches.
