Subject: GPW review from June 18th/00

Just to liven things up abit in here I have decided to repost a review I did from GPW's summer tour 2000. Enjoy.

GPW JUNE 18TH/00

1. Maddog Neilson vs Bobby Rude ***

“McFly” comes out to a huge pop, he is way over with the crowd all through the match. He seemed to like my sign that said “Put McFly in the main event.” McFly’s workrate seems to get better every week. Bobby Rude didn’t work that hard in this match and I suspect he was lagged
from the double shot today in Antigonish. I think McFly has the best charisma out of the whole GPW roster and I think that his wrestling skill is right up there with Chi Chi and Austin. Why he jobbed tonight no one knows.

2. Todd “the Bod” Douglas vs Big Al “the Godfather” DUD

I am really getting sick of Big Al. He is a fat piece of shit who makes the Beasts’ workrate look like RVD’s. Hey Al, if your reading this here’s a reality check. You suck, and you’re not going anywhere, anytime soon in the wrestling business, face it. You should go join Sunny 2 Rivers on his fishing boat so you can stuff your fat face with tuna, and anything else Sunny catches on his
boat. Ahhh, I had to get that off of my chest. Todd needs to work with someone who can make him look good, i.e. Tommy Valentine(remember their match from RAW). Poor Todd having to wrestle Al twice in North Sydney. Who booked this one!

3. Cuban Assasin vs Rene E. Dupre **1/2

Rene is now Rene E. Dupre; what’s with the E.? Does this addition of a middle initial make Rene anymore over than he was before? Nope. Anywho, Cuban bumps like crazy putting on a terrific show. Rene looked like he was crying when the Cuban hit him with his popsicle stick wrapped in masking tape. Good solid match.

4. Kurrgan vs Hans Schultz DUD

Hans is a newcomer to GPW, you see he has a little mental problem called split personality disorder; by day he’s a born and bred 6’0” Winnipeg carny at Rides R’ Us and by night he’s a 6’5” German. Kurrgan gets a decent pop but nothing compared to last years. He has to do stupid dances and jerking motions? to get the crowd into his match. Sorry Kurrgan your heat is gone no one cares anymore that you were an oddity in New York. Hans seems likes the lead ass in the ring. Kurrgan ends it with a chokeslam, yeah!, gimme a break...

5. Chi Chi Cruz vs Wildman Austin (Falls count anywhere in the building) ****

Many thanks to Doobie the Doorman for bringing the bag o’ plunder. Without it this match
might have sucked. Hey Doobie, maybe Emile should start putting you on his payroll. The match is a wild hardcore brawl and is spread out all over the arena. The crazy devil kids next to me tried to steal my McFly poster while the brawl was happening on the floor. Where are these
kids parents!? I didn’t like the finish of the match but what transpired afterwards was a really good angle. Rene is struck with a lamp by Wildman, and I could tell he was pissed off as soon as he was struck with it. I think the main event next week should be a 3 way hardcore dance
between Austin/Chi Chi/Rene.

*Notes*
Overall this was a pretty good show. You can’t ignore the fact that there were two duds though. I’m telling ya’s, Big Al has to go! (Why can I see myself floating in Sydney Harbour wearing cement shoes after Al reads this from his Pentium 900 mhz laptop computer.) Thanks BMN for showing the wrestlers the link to the website!!! I’m just kidding!:)

I’m Smcsman and that was my 2 cents.

P.S. Where’s my Powerade water bottle Emile!!!
