Subject: A great trip to a RAW show in Whycocomagh..

Others will more fully recap the actual event in Whycocomagh, but here is my recap of a trip to a wrestling show..

We left Sydney at about 5:00 for a show we thought started at 7:00 in Whycocomagh (1.5 hours away). Driving was smooth and we arrived in the town by 6:30. We got directions to the arena and then found out the event started at 7:30.

Only about 70 people showed up for the show - 9 were from the CBRM!! The four of us were jacked to see Joe E again! It wouldn't take long as he was involved in the opening interview segment. For our benefit, he said "North Sydney, Nova Scotia.." to which he pointed the mic to us shouting "What a freakin' dump!" Joe looks in good shape with his hair a little longer than his WWF days. His mic work certainly hasn't gone downhill as he had us in stitches.

The first two matches (Lane/Watts and Damage/CCM) were virtually identical to the NSCF show, though the latter was shorter and better. The four of us were clearly the loudest fans in the building, clapping and generally having a fun time!

Wilmdan fought Kowboy in the next match which ended with a Kingman run in. Good match.

During intermission, I said hello to Wildman.

Joe E fought in the next match against Kingman. Here is where we really picked up the noise level. The four of us were easily making more noise than the rest of the building combined. Joe and Kingman were responding to anything we said at this point. Decent match with a DQ win for Joe.

The main event saw Chi Chi face Bobby Rude in a traditional match (as opposed to falls count everywhere in North Sydney). We got the "Velvet Panties" chant going which kind of caught on with others in the arena. The other fans in the building were more into this match than any other and some pretty good "Chi Chi" chants were heard. Anyway, another win by Chi Chi.

After the matches, we spoke to Joe E and Chi Chi for about 20 - 30 minutes and had pictures taken with them. Great conversation!!

Finally, we left back for Sydney, getting stopped outside Baddeck by a bunch of School buses inexplicably parked in the middle of the highway!! Ended up driving past the North Sydney Community Forum before having some eats at a North Sydney pizza place.

Anyway, a great little trip and a fun evening! Can't wait to see Joe E and the boys back at the NSCF on the 19th!!
