WILLPOWER PART 16: ALONE

We're at the Magic Box. It's still before sundown but the gloom outside clearly point that it is close to sundown.
Dawn, Kennedy, Willow and Giles are practically buried in books. The entire table is filled with books, save for a
small spot where Willow's laptop stands. Willow is using the laptop, Dawn and Kennedy are reading some small books
and Giles is searching the store for more books on the subject.
KENNEDY
You know Giles, when you put all this junk on the table, you start to wonder how that
all fit in this small store.
GILES
Kennedy, these books are centuries old and full of important work. They're *not* crap
KENNEDY *smiling*
Got it. You know, I've been reading this book for over half an hour and I still have no idea what
it's about. I think I better go patrolling.
Kennedy stands up.
XANDER (O.S.)
Oh no, you're not getting away that easy.
Xander and Andrew walk into the Magic Box, carrying bag of food.
XANDER *joking*
If you're here, I'm not the worst researcher here for a change.
WILLOW
You're never the worst. We work together to..... oh, you were joking.
Andrew walks over to the table gives Dawn a silent hi and a smile. The smile is an incredibly awkward one.
Dawn gives Andrew a similar smile and Andrew takes a seat at the opposite end of the table.
Xander has reached the table as well. He wants to put the food on the table, but there is no room on the table.
XANDER
Not to be all ignorant, but where are all these books for?
WILLOW
To research Glory
XANDER
Didn't we do this three years ago?
DAWN
Yes, but she might be different now
XANDER
Define different
WILLOW
Well, she was brought back. We have to find out how and how to stop her because, well.. we have
no Buffy, no Buffybot, no Dagon Sphere and no troll hammer...... We need
a new plan
XANDER
Well alright.
Xander puts the bags down for a minute and puts all the books from the table on the floor.
XANDER
That's better. We eat!
He puts the food on the table and everyone who hasn't taken a seat does so now. Giles seems a little upset that his
precious books are on the floor but this once, he doesn't say anything about it.
After dinner, the gang goes back to research. Xander and even Andrew grab a book and read it, or, at least pretend they
read it. Everytime Dawn and Andrew look at each other, they quickly turn their heads away. After about an hour, Mitch
enters the Magic Box.
MITCH
Hi all. Dawn, you ready?
Dawn is quite happy to get out of this predicament with Andrew. She is obviously happy that Mitch is here.
DAWN *cheerful*
Yes, ready. Ready to leave.... with my boyfriend.
WILLOW
You haven't been casting that heroin spell again, have you?
All eyes turn to Dawn. Giles opens his mouth to say something that surely wouldn't be any good when Willow corrects.
WILLOW
Just kidding.
GILES *embarassed*
Oh.. right
Willow starts laughing when she sees the expression on Giles face.
Dawn stands up and walks to Mitch. They both walk to the front door. Dawn turns around.
DAWN
Bye all, see you tonight
Xander silently moves his lips to Dawn. Dawn notices.
XANDER *no sound*
Talk to him
Dawn looks at Xander to let him know he got the message and Mitch and Dawn leave the Magic Box.
XANDER
Where are they going anyway? You know where they're going?
Xander looks at Andrew and gives him a questioning smile.
ANDREW
How should I know? It's not like I'm always with her.
Andrew stands up from the chair.
ANDREW
I have to be somewhere too.
XANDER
Where are you going?
ANDREW
Rachel called me. I'm gonna go by her place.
Willow and Kennedy both get a guilty look on their face. They still haven't told anyone that Rachel has made
a move on Kennedy.
GILES
Well allright. Come by here when you're done ok?
ANDREW
Okay. Bye!
Andrew walks towards the front door and walks out of the store. Everyone now, goes back to work, except Xander who
has a puzzled look on his face. The weird behaviour was pretty obvious to him.
KENNEDY *looks up from her book*
You know, we could still go patrolling.
GILES *gives up*
Fine. Let's take a few hours off. You three go patrolling. Meet me back
in a few hours.
KENNEDY *happy*
Alright! Come on Xandman, let's get some weapons from the back.
Xander and kennedy go to the backroom.
GILES *to Willow*
If you run into Glory....
WILLOW
We run.... don't worry. But I don't think we'll find her in a cemetary.
Kennedy and Xander get back with a couple of stakes and some small swords.
WILLOW *to Xander and Kennedy*
Right. Let's go.
WILLOW *to Giles*
See you in a few hours
Willow, Kennedy and Xander walk out of the Magic Box, leaving Giles behind. He doesn't seem bothered that everyone has
left. He sits down again and starts reading a book.

Kennedy, Willow and Xander are walking through one of the local cemeteries.
WILLOW
You have any idea what's up with Dawn?
KENNEDY
She was acting a little weird.
XANDER
Nothing to be worried about
Willow stops in her tracks and looks at Xander.
WILLOW
Do you know something I don't know?
XANDER
No... of course not. What's there to know?
WILLOW
You tell me?
XANDER
It's nothing... really
WILLOW
Something's wrong, isn't it?
XANDER
That's something between me and Dawn that... I'm telling you... is not a
big deal.
Willow shrugs as she realizes she's really not getting anything out of Xander and the three of them continue walking.
They see two vampires standing about fourty feet away, apparently in a big argument.
KENNEDY *whispers to Willow and Xander*
Let me take them
KENNEDY *to the vampires*
Uh, guys...
The two vampires stop arguing and both look in Kennedy's direction.
Kennedy runs towards the vampires and kicks one in the face. The second vampire immediately counters and hits her on the
head. Kennedy falls to the floor. All this time, Xander and Willow stand on the same spot.
XANDER *shouts*
Uh, Kennedy... you need some help?
KENNEDY *shouts*
No, I'm alright
Willow and Xander look at each other and shrug.
Meanwhile, Kennedy has got up and attacks the vampires again. This time, she's not so agressive and manages to hit both
vampires without being hit herself. She grabs a stake from her coat and holds it up. Kennedy smiles confidently.
KENNEDY
You're *so* dead
Kennedy steps forward to attack but she didn't count on both vampires attacking at that moment. She staggers back and
trips over her feet. She falls backward. She manages to bend her body so her head doesn't get smacked on the floor but
this means that her back gets quite a blow. She lies on the back and the two vampires tower over her. They have clearly
forgotten of Willow and Xander.
VAMPIRE1
Not so tough now, are you?
KENNEDY *a little scared*
Uh, guys!
WILLOW
You're not trying to say you need a hand, do you?
The vampires move in for the kill.
KENNEDY *scared*
Actually, I kinda do
Kennedy holds her hands in front of her face. Willow points her hands towards the vampires.
WILLOW
Tesona avoc marath!
A blot of fiere colored energy emerges from Willow's hands which turns the vampires to dust instantly.
Kennedy gets up and grabs her back in pain.
KENNEDY
Ooow!
XANDER
Hey, you're lucky you can still walk.
KENNEDY *in pain*
Yeah, I feel really lucky
The three leave the piles of ash and go in the same direction they came from. When they are out of sight, a man dressed
in a black robe steps from behind one of the crypts in the area.
ROBED MAN *to himself*
They were weak. I won't be that easy.

Mitch and Dawn are walking on the street. They are talking happily together.
DAWN
No way... I mean, no way! There's no way he would ever go out with her
MITCH
Hey, I saw it with my own eyes.
DAWN *smiles*
Where is the world coming to?
There is a silence. Both Dawn and Mitch are looking to each other. They walk like this for almost twenty seconds.
MITCH
So... how's the whole hellgod thing going?
DAWN
Thankfully, we haven't seen her around since that one time
MITCH
That's good.... I guess. So you guys gonna research tonight?
DAWN
Yeah, research-bound as always.
MITCH
So, who's gonna be there?
Dawn understands fully well what Mitch means with this question but she avoids the subject of Andrew.
DAWN *smiling and talking fast*
You know, the usual, Willow, Xander, Kennedy, Andrew, Giles... you wanna come too?
MITCH
Sorry, I can't. I have some important stuff to do.
DAWN *smiles*
Like what?
MITCH *smiles*
Like that big history test we have tomorrow. We can't all be as smart as you.
Some of us actually have to study.
DAWN *smiles*
Well, I'm gonna take that as a compliment
They reach Dawn's house. We can assume that they have just returned from their date.
DAWN
This is where I get off
MITCH
Hope you had a good flight
DAWN
I liked the captain
They both smile and then kiss.
DAWN
See you tomorrow?
MITCH
'fraid so.
Dawn gives Mitch a questioning look.
MITCH
History test?!
Dawn's face shows a sign of relief.
DAWN
Oh, right!
Dawn walks inside and waves goodbye to Mitch. When she closes the door, her expression shows relief.
DAWN *hisses to herself*
What the hell is wrong with me? This is insane!

Andrew is standing in front of a house. He seems to be talking to himself quietly. T
ANDREW
Oh well, here goes nothing...
Andrew walks over to the front door and rings the doorbell. After about five seconds, Rachel opens the door.
RACHEL *smiling*
Oh hi Andrew. Come in.
Andrew steps inside and Rachel closes the door behind him and walks to the living room where she motions Andrew
to have a seat.
RACHEL
You want a drink?
ANDREW *serious*
No thanks
Rachel sits down as well. Her expression reveals that she realizes something is wrong
RACHEL *serious*
What's wrong?
ANDREW
Funny, I was about to ask you the same thing?
RACHEL *innocent*
What do you m....
Andrew gives Rachel a knowing look.
RACHEL
You found out about Kennedy
ANDREW
Well, yeah
RACHEL
You know, she is my ex-girlfriend but that's all in the past. I didn't tell you because I was
afraid you thought it was weird.
ANDREW
Well, it *is* weird, but that's not what I meant
RACHEL *getting very cautious*
What *do* you mean then
ANDREW
Funny thing is, I heard about that and I went to your place to talk about it... but you weren't
there.
RACHEL
Maybe I was out
ANDREW
You certainly were. So I went to look for you. I found you the first place I looked.
Rachel's expression saddens as she understands what Andrew is trying to say.
ANDREW *getting a little upset*
You were with Kennedy. And you were begging her to take you back.
A tear appears on Rachel's face.
RACHEL
I'm sorry Andrew. I really am.
ANDREW
Answer me this, what do *I* mean to you? I didn't seem to mean much when you were with Kennedy
rachel tries to express herself but she can't get a single word out of her mouth. After more than aminute of awkward
silence, Andrew has made up his mind.
ANDREW
If that's all you have to say, I think were done
Andrew stands up and walks to the front door. He opens it and walks through it. He then closes the door behind him.
Just before it closes, Rachel yells to Andrew
RACHEL *yells*
I'm sorry!
The door is closed now and she is alone.
RACHEL *sobbing to herself*
I'm sorry
Andrew stands outside and wipes away a tear. He's sad but nevertheless happy it's behind him.

Willow, Kennedy and Xander enter the Magic Box where Giles is still reading. He has positioned a whiteboard behind the
table. Giles has clearly done a lot of work because the whiteboard is completely full of information.
Giles' handwriting is so small however that we cannot make anything out of it.
GILES
How did it go?
Willow and Xander look at each other and smile.
XANDER
It went really well
WILLOW
Yeah, Kennedy learned two vamps a lesson they'll never forget
Kennedy's face turns slightly red but she's obviously glad that they didn't tell Giles what really happened.
KENNEDY
So.. anything interesting here?
GILES
A lot, but I'd rather wait until Dawn and Andrew are here.
Dawn and Andrew enter the Magic Box.
DAWN
We're here!
Giles stands there for a few seconds, thinking of what to say next.
GILES
Well, now that we're all here.... I have discovered some important information regarding Glory and
her resurrection.
Giles motions everybody to take a seat at the table and he walks to the whiteboard. He flips it so he can write on the
back of the whiteboard which is still completely empty.
GILES
I've been researching that dagger that was stolen from my house. The one we stopped those two
vampires from stealing. I found out that this dagger is a part of a specific ritual.
DAWN
A ritual to bring Glory back?
Giles gives Dawn a semi-angry look to indicate he doesn't like it when she talks through his story.
GILES
Yes, the ritual will bring back Glory. There must be someone to perform the ritual. That person
must stab himself, or herself, with the dagger and from the death of that person, Glory will rise.
He walks towards the whiteboard and draws a picture of a man with a dagger in his heart and then an arrow to the word
resurrection. Above the dagger he cleverly puts the word dagger and above the man he puts the word caster.
GILES
Fortunately, it is a little more difficult. The ritual transfers some of the energy of the
caster into Glory. Seeing that Glory was hurt by the anti-violence spell, the caster was
probably a demon.
XANDER
Maybe that otehr vampire who tried to steal the dagger.
GILES
Possibly. In Glory's case, she needs a body. The body of a human.... like Ben. The spell
chooses a human from a certain radius to be Glory's host and teleports him to the caster.
Glory will then inhabit this new host.
Giles walks to the whiteboard and updates the situation.
XANDER
Okay, who is the host?
GILES
We don't know
WILLOW
Well, how big was this radius you were talking about?
GILES
Three... maybe four miles
DAWN
What! That includes entire Sunnydale!
ANDREW
So how do we kill her?
GILES
The same way we did last time, we kill the host
KENNEDY
Okay, you *are* aware that this is a normal human, right?
GILES
Look, we don't have much of a choice.
WILLOW
Didn't Glory have that mind-mojo working the last time.
GILES
She probably hasn't had time and energy to use that yet. All and all, I think we have a fighting
chance against Glory.
XANDER
Not to be a big pessimist but... don't we need a Dagon Sphere?
Giles clearly hasn't thought about that and needs a few seconds to come up with an answer.
GILES
I'll try to find out how to get one, but we'll have to be prepared to fight without it. It may
have been one of a kind.
DAWN
Okay, I've heard a lot of information but what are we going to *do*?
Again, Giles is quiet for a few seconds.
XANDER
Come on G. You're slipping
Giles gives Xander a smile.
GILES
Well, we have to find out who Glory's host is. I'm afraid Willow's magic is no match for Glory
KENNEDY
Are you kidding, Willow can do anything
WILLOW
Giles is right
Kennedy gets the message and shuts up.
ANDREW
What do we do when we meet her?
GILES
You run
ANDREW
Right.

The robed figure from the cemetary sits in a place that looks like church. There are no people in the church except
for the robed man and the place is completely silent. We can't hear even the slightest sound.
The man sits on the floor in the middle of the church. He has his eyes closed. Suddenly, he starts shouting.
ROBED GUY
Willow!
Scene shifts to the Magic Box. In the Magic Box, the gang is still researching further details of the ritual as they try
to find a way to locate the host. Suddenly, Willow screams and holds her head with both her hands. Everybody looks at
Willow with fear. Willow looks around and notices everyone is staring at her.
WILLOW
I'm alright guys
The scene shifts back to the church. The robed man now talks on a normal volume.
ROBED GUY
Come to the church near the Moonfall cemetary. Come alone.
Back at the Magic Box.
GILES
Willow, are you alright?
WILLOW
Someone has been talking to me. That person wants me to come to him... or her.
GILES
Fine, let's go
WILLOW
He wants me to come alone. I'm going alone
XANDER
Are you kidding!?
WILLOW
Maybe that person has more information about Glory
DAWN
Or maybe it is comeone working for Glory
WILLOW
I'll take that chance. I'm going alone.
Willow looks around but it is clear everyone respects her decision and let her go. Willow leaves the Magic Box.
XANDER
I have a bad feeling about this.

Willow enters the church that the robed man was in. He is still in the same place he was before.
The robed man tries to speak to Willow's mind but he is unsuccessful.
WILLOW
You gotta speak normally, I performed a little spell to protect my mind.
ROBED GUY
I thought I told you to come straight here.
WILLOW
You told me to come alone. You never told me I could do this.
ROBED GUY
Smart girl
Willow walks closer to the robed man and the robed man stands up. They now stand fifty foot away from each other.
WILLOW
Why did you ask me here? Who are you?
ROBED GUY
I am Dhall
WILLOW
Well... Dhall... you have any information on Glory?
DHALL
I'm afraid not
WILLOW
Then why am I here?
DHALL
Because I asked you to
WILLOW *seriously*
What do you want?
DHALL
The powers I have are legendary. I have defeated countless demons, warlocks and witches. I have come
here because of you. I am here to kill you.
WILLOW *not scared*
Nothing like being honest. But tell me... why me?
DHALL
Because I heard you were the most powerful witch alive. That's like an insult to me.
A bit of anger begins to rise in Dhalls voice but it imemdiately disappears again.
WILLOW
So you want to kill me to prove you're the best?!
DHALL
Exactly. I knew you would understand. Now, get ready to die.
WILLOW
You know, that scares me more and more everytime I hear it.
Dhalls points his arms at Willow.
DHALL
Vhreg no ma
A burst of energy appears from Dhalls hands and is aimed at Willow. A barrier around Willow protects her against this
attack. Willow counters. She lifts her hands in the sky.
WILLOW
Thorth
A small field of energy appears above Dhalls head. Several bolts of lightning strike from it but Dhall is also protected
by a protective barrier and the bolts do no damage. After about twenty seconds, the field of energy fades away.
DHALL
Not bad witch!
Dhall holds his hands before his chest, forming a ball of energy between his hands. He then hurls it to Willow.
The ball of energy hits Willow's protective barrier and explodes with a blast. The explosion damage is also
absorbed by Willow's barrier. Willow looks around her and lifts several large stone by means of telikinesis and
throws them at Dhall. Before the stones hit him however, he waves his hands and the stones fly off to the sides where
they hit the walls of the church.
DHALL
Seems like we're gonna hev to do this the old-fashioned way.
Dhall takes off his robe and reveals an extremely muscular body. He looks completely human.
WILLOW
Domehim!
Willow imbues herself with magical strength like she did when she fought Buffy more than a year ago.
Dhall charges at Willow who takes the challenge and also rushes over to Dhall. With one effective blow at the chest,
Dhall knocks Willow more than ten feet away. Fortunately, Willow's magic protects her body, otherwise, this fight could
have been ended. Willow gets to her feet and attacks Dhall with kicks and punches, but Dhall is simply better than
Willow at the fighting and he kicks her ass without much efford. Willow lies on the floor, trying to recover from the
blows Dhall has dealt. Then, Willow hears someone walk into the church. Both Willow and Dhall look to the place the
sound came from and they see Xander, Giles, Dawn, Andrew and Kennedy standing there. Dawn fires her crossbow and it
hits Dhall in the shoulder. It hurts him, but not a lot.
KENNEDY
Hey Will, you sure you don't need help?
All the scoobs are heavily armed and ready for a fight. Dhall turns towards the scoobs and raises his hands in the air.
A big ball of energy forms above his head that keeps getting bigger and bigger. Covertly, Willow reaches inside her
jacket and grabs a small knife. Suddenly, Willow stands up and jams the knife through the back of Dhall's head.
Dhall falls to the floor and doesn't move.
WILLOW
Focal incente!
With the barrier down, this spell hits Dhall and Dhalls body starts burning. After a minute, there is only ashes.
XANDER
Doesn't that usually leave bones?
WILLOW *still in pain*
This was magical fire
Willow manages to get up and the gang leaves the church.

We are at the Summers' home. Kennedy, Willow, Dawn and Xander enter. Dawn and Kennedy walk straight up the stairs.
DAWN *tired*
I'm going to bed
KENNEDY *tired*
Me too
Within twenty seconds after they entered the place, Dawn and Kennedy are already out of sight.
WILLOW
You'd think I would be the most tired after getting beat down.
XANDER
Let's have a seat
WILLOW *tired*
Yes please
Willow and Xander take a seat on the couch. Willow practically tips over before she falls on the couch.
XANDER *serious*
Are you gonna be okay?
WILLOW
Yeah, It'll heal. Tomorrow, I'll be kicking ass again.
XANDER *serious*
That's not what I meant
Willow looks at Xander. She knows what he means.
XANDER
That guy was human. He was eveil and he wanted to kill us, but he was human.
WILLOW
He came to town with the sole purpose to kill me... just to prove he was more powerful
XANDER
You did the right thing Will. You didn't murder him, you stopped him from murdering us.
Willow smiles and leans back.
XANDER *not serious*
Although, next time, you could ask us to come along instead of charging in like.... Will?
Xander looks at Willow who is sleeping on the couch. Xander grabs a blanket from under the couch and lays it over her.
XANDER *joking*
At least Dawn lets me finish my speaches
Xander walks out of the house and closes the door behind him.
