In reply to: Virgil 's message, "Moving out, Linking up (Part I)" on 18:07:44 03/29/01 Thu

A few minutes later, Virgil approached his first destination. Although he'd never actually been to one, and it's location wouldn't be advertised, he knew from his Third Eye training there'd be at least one on a station of this size. He'd been sending out tenative little telepathic signals--and before long he got a faint return.

Homing in on the signal--and having Calenderi discreetly fly ahead to spot any possible ambush--he wandered down a dark alleyway. The smell of cooking food from a nearby restaraunt blended with the stench of rotting garbage and various creatures "marking" their territory. It soon became pitch dark, and he traded the little rose-colored glasses for his pair of night-vision lenses.

Soon he reached a nondescript-looking door, set deep within an alcove along a particularly shadowy wall. Without the telepathic becon to home in on, he'd probably have missed it. As Calenderi returned to his backpack, Virgil carefuly stepped around a puddle of he-didn't-want-to-know-what and started to knock--only to have the door open as he raised his hand. He looked around--and saw no one on the other side of the door.

~You going to stand there all night?~

Virgil stepped in without hesitation, the door shutting behind him.
