After swallowing several other nice pieces of trash, the wolf hopped out of the dumpster and shook its fur, sending the smaller fragments of garbage in its fur flying.

The creature barked, growled, and then started glowing. Its fur receded somewhat, and the long claws retracted. Once the transformation had finished, a man remained instead of a wolf.

Granted, a shaggy, disheveled man. Well, calling his appearance "entirely unkempt" would have been excessively kind.

Light blue hair stuck out in several directions above a kind of vacant expression. The yellow eyes and slight point of the man's ears suggested the wolf he had been a few minutes earlier.

His clothes were badly wrinkled; a white dress shirt that was miraculously unstained, a pair of baggy blue jeans, and some ancient-looking sneakers.

"Uh...?" he asked, running a hand through his hair. "Why'd he follow me...? ....Kholas was just getting something to eat, that's all... felt hungry here..."
