sorry about the difficulty and the clearing of messages.

okay, here are the facts:

1. post length is limited to 40,960 characters...but brevity is the best editor, right? (it's not that bad...B.U.T.S. Chapters 1 & 2 were about 55,000 each...I just divided them in halves for appearance / fluidity; also, there are limits of 1000 lines per post and 500 charcters for a heading.

2. the forum has several cut-offs in place, all of which are maxxed...these are:
a. The main page will become an archive page when 200k of info has been collected, so let's keep it to text only (not that that has been a problem). there is a limit of 4 archived pages.
b. there are a limit to messages/threads. there can be 400 messages and 300 threads max.
c. messages/threads older than 6 months are automatically axed.

all of this isn't really that crippling...but just keep in mind that if you want to keep something, be mindful of where it is posted before it drops off...all in all it's not a bad way to keep things fairly clean and presentable.
