well, I've run into a problem with this forum. When I set up the intial configuration, there were options for maximum thread limits, maximum lines per post, cut-off date for old posts,that sort of stuff...well I maxed all of the options (due to the nature of this particular forum) except one I overlooked: the one that determines how much memory is alotted to the main index page of the forum, before archiving the posts -- the default is 10k of message text; not bad for a normal forum, but for the type of posts made here, very crippling...I've tried to switch it to the max, but it keeps reverting back to 10k (sigh).

anyways, I have contacted the site administrator and hopefully can resolve it (I also cannot edit archived messages - wierd)

so bare with me, I'll get this up and running, even if it means starting over....again.
