I used to go there with my black friends when they need a haircut. I am white and back in the day I was told once, by Curley I think, "sorry little man we don't do white here", so I used to go to Engel's on 105th and Flatlands, right next to Greenburg;s drugstore. We lived in the projects from '55 to '68. I graduated from CHS in '69. it was the best place to grow up until drugs took over, very sad. Hope this message reaches you in a good place. Marvin Siegel

OMG! I remember Curley's barbershop! And the Carrentini Brothers. What were there names again? Was one of them named Tony. Great memories! I lived on the "road" too. Between 105th and 108th.
