Have you tried a little sodium perborate? Depending upon the size of your coffee cup, about 1 tsp. will clean a 12-cup coffee pot. Fill the cup with clean water (hot or cold)and add the perborate. You can leave it over night or the entire weekend. The next morning, just rinse it clean. If you do not have access through the chemistry department, please let me know. However, this chemical does not play well with others, so be sure to be careful with what you add to the mix. Do not add any chlorine or cal-hypo, it will not be a pleasant result.
