When I was born in 1981, my mom, brother, and I lived in Woodstream apartments. We moved when I was 5 1/2, but I remember hopping the fence to bring my loose change into the gas station store to get Bazooka gum. I remember there being a pizza place there too. Not sure if it is still there today?? I also have fond memories of the house on the corner that always had amazing lights at Christmas time. It was the house that was on the corner on the road that led towards Van Zant. I went to that school and remember walking home. I sure hope they don't still have that awful thick burnt orange carpet in the apartments anymore! I wonder if they rebuilt the inside to have 3 bedrooms? Ours had 2 very large bedrooms with a walk-in closet. I remember rent was 500 dollars in 1986 and gas about a 1.00 a gallon, ha. I left NJ when I was 18 and now live in the deep south, Phenix City, AL. I have a special pic of me when I was under a year old at the Woodstream apartment school. The memories we can remember at such a young age. I also sure hope they don't have that large dumpster in the very front of the apartments. That was an eye sore and a very sad memory for me as my special cat was killed right in front of that dumpster. Thanks for posting this great site!
