My BB is trained to "Speak" also. She has a great booming bark when she is barking for herself. When I give her the command to speak she does lots of growly noises, hops around, and does little half woofs. The whole time it is like she wants to bark, but she just can't let a good one out. She has an even tougher time when we are someplace like training classes where there are other people and dogs around. I have yet to be able to get her to give a good strong bark on command, but it looks like she is really trying.
I figured it was just her little quirk.
