Hi Boerboel Community

Hope everyone is well? I just wanted to share a great experience I had this past weekend with my 13 year old daughter (Chancey) and her 13 month old BB pup (Kenya)

I needed to go to our local Petsmart and decided it would be good to take my daughter Chancey and her pup Kenya with me for a bit of interactions with others. It turns out that Petsmart is having a Super Saturday Party going on and the place is packed. There were dogs everywhere and people all over. I have never seen so many cars in the parking lot.

We parked and got ready to go in the store. I reminded Chancey to keep Kenya close and to be watchful as Kenya has not been around new dogs for awhile. I left it at that and we went in the store.

I did my shopping and Chancey and Kenya went exploring around the store at all the new smells.
WOW!!!
The next thing I know we have a Star at Petsmart.
"CHANCEY & KENYA LIVE"
People start gathering around Chancey, asking her all kinds of questions about her dog. It started with two or three people and then people just started to gather around the two of them.

I was standing far enough away from Chancey that the people didn't realize that I was with her but close enough to hear the conversations that were taking place. Chancey peaked over the group of people that had circled around her and gave me a look that said "Mom are you going to come over her and talk to these people" I smiled at her and continued looking at a book I had picked up and was thumbing through.

Chancey took complete control of the situation. She put Kenya at a Sit/Stay and started visiting with the crowd of people. She answered all kinds of questions, she kneeled down by Kenya and showed the younger children how to properly approach a large dog and how to pet them. It was really cool.

It was a really proud moment as a parent. It is the first time anything like that has ever happened to Chancey and she handled it really well.

As we left the store Chancey was walking with a sense of pride that I don't think she has ever felt before and had a smile from ear to ear. I asked her how she felt and she told me "Really Great"

Wanted to share my Super Saturday with you.
Take Care
Cammie
