I just also wanted to thank ALaura for the good info. I also wanted to say that in my opinion Cheryl is a great example of an ethical Breeder and a genuine person with the ability to pass along her experience and knowledge in a way most anyone can except and gain from. She helps people from all walks of life with all breeds of dogs to solve behaviour problems, health problems, and just any type of problem that may cause tension or harm to animal or person in a household. She fully understands and excepts the reguirements of being a good owner or Breeder. She has my full respect and confidence. I only wish she would post more to counteract some of the negative so called knowledge that helps no one, especially the Boerboel. And Dan, Just my own personal opinion: I own Boerboels because I truly love this breed. I want to Breed them for the same reason and because above all I want to improve the breed and help rid it of the problems BREAD into it by unethical and money motivated breeders like Blackwell with the demodex. Culling done correctly is an act of love for the animals as a breed and the individual animal. My own phisolophy on this is if the animal doesn't realize it has a problem and likely won't, I would place it. If it has a problem and it knows it and will suffer from it in any hurtful way, I would put it down. I love them too much not to do right by them. You ask why do breeders breed? I believe it is to help and for love.
