how could a whole species evolve when they are not all in the same environment. human descendants travelled from the jungles of africa so had to adapt to their journeys, so they evolved thumbs designed to carry and manipulate rather than simply climb and feed. because of this human beings could make tools to hunt animals, therefore receiving more protein and increasing brain capacity. chimps were left to cope with the kenyan jungle, which they were already perfectly adapt to.
