Subject: Miss World USA

Does anyone know if the United States will be sending a delegate to this years pageant? If so, who is putting it on? Is it ilive, the people who did it last year?

All I know about the Miss World USA pageant is what went on last year (and the year before that!) Hirsh WIlkes was running it and pulled a scam on everyone. He claims until the last minute that they are selecting one girl from each state. He strings them along until a couple of weeks before the big "non-event". Then he ends up choosing a handful of girls from Southern Cal. himself. The winner is also chosen by him in a make believe pageant! Don't bother!!

According to Pageant News Bureau, Miss World USA is now in the hands of the producers behind Miss United States Teen, and will be holding actual preliminaries starting in 2002. Since it's too late to hold pageants this year, they have chosen to send Carrie Stroup (NC?) to Miss World this year.
