Don't get a monigue! I have one that a friend is interested in selling and it really sucks. I am an advanced player (went to school on a sax scholarship) and the monique's intonation is horrible. Some notes it is accurate others can be almost a half step off. In addittion to the hit or miss intonation the response is very harsh and inconsistent. The overall tone is very thin the low end is quite muddled, while the high end is virtually non-existent. If you want to get a good soprano get a yamaha, I have a YAS-62 (Alto) and it is flawless. The yamaha pro models can be expensive but sometimes you can find a good deal. I've played a Yaginisawa Soprano and they'r pretty good, just make sure you have the right mouthpiece/reed combination.
